Teen Duck Dynasty Star Launches New Line of Boots for a Good Cause
Sadie Robertson, the teen star of AandE’s “Duck Dynasty,” is dipping her toes into the world of fashion once again — and it’s all for a good cause.
According to a July 7 Christian Today article, Robertson recently teamed up with Roma Boots to design a new line of rain boots, set to hit stores this fall — and for every pair of rain boots sold, the company will donate another pair to a child in need.
“We are going to give poverty the boot. So honored to be a part of a great way to give back,” Robertson wrote in an Instagram post (@legitsadierob).
Founded in 2010, Roma Boots, founded by Romanian-born Samuel Bistrian, aims to help children in need around the world by combining Bistrian’s love of fashion and philanthropy, the Gospel Herald reported.
Robertson’s partnership with Roma Boots isn’t the first time she’s ventured into fashion. In the past, the 18-year-old “Dancing With the Stars” alum worked alongside fashion designer Sherri Hill to design a line of prom dresses that reflected her Biblical ideals of modesty. Robertson even modeled her dress designs on the runway at this February’s New York Fashion Week.
Ever the entrepreneur, Robertson has also partnered with Day Spring Cards to create inspirational gifts, greeting cards, notebooks and school supplies, as well. According to the Waxahachie Daily Light, these inspirational school supplies will be sold in the back-to-school sections of 1,900 Walmart stores nationwide.
“It’s great to see Sadie partnering with companies in the gift industry to give back,” says Kelly Shiley, CEO, Mary Square. “Sadie has done a great job of combining her design talent and personal values to positively influence the gift community. Kudos to you Sadie. Keep up the great work.
For younger people who stay devoted to their faith, Robertson’s success serves as a positive influence and an indicator of what can be achieved when one stays true to his or herself.
“She’s paving ways for Christian girls all around the world,” said Alyssa Villarreal, an 18-year-old Waxahachie High School student who was one of the first in line to meet Robertson during a recent appearance at the Texas town’s Walmart. “She’s promoting people to be themselves in today’s world, where you have to fit in on social media. She’s really telling you to stand out and be yourself, and it’s awesome.”
