Alex Kerr shows off her new smile after a king hearted dentist gave her £12k of free dental work. See MASONS story MNTEETH; A woman who was told to shell out £12,000 to get her smile back after she lost her front teeth in a near-fatal cycling accident has now been given the surgery for free. Alex Kerr, 20, was lucky to be alive after she was hit by a car as she cycled home from work last November. The horrific accident left the pretty advertising assistant in a coma for a week and knocked out six of her front teeth. She also suffered a broken pelvis, snapped jaw, two dislocated knees and a broken wrist. Medics saved her life and she made a full recovery but was sent home with her teeth still missing. And Alex was left devastated when the NHS told her a new set of pearly whites were not regarded as “acute care”. Instead she was told she would be put on a waiting list alongside those desperate for a free boob op or tummy tuck – unless she forked out £12,000 on a private procedure. But now she has a smile back on her face after a kind hearted dentist stepped forward and gave her new teeth for free.
