How Your Next Selfie Could Help Support the Dental Hygiene Industry
The American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) along with the blog The Dental Geek have recently teamed up to raise money for the dental hygiene profession through an unconventional approach — group selfies.
According to a June 18 DentistryIQ article, the campaign, called #TheDentalGeekSelfie, seeks to raise funds for the ADHA’s Institute for Oral Health while bringing the dental profession together. The Dental Geek, the article says, is asking dental professionals to submit a group selfie of themselves and their team, whether it’s at a dental office, dental marketing team or dental lab.
And for each photo submitted, The Dental Geek will donate one dollar to the ADHA’s Institute for Oral Health.
According to DentistryIQ, the ADHA’s Institute for Oral Health aims to advance dental hygiene as a profession through scholarships, grants for research and community service to dental hygienists across America.
In addition to donating one dollar for each group selfie submitted, The Dental Geek will also randomly choose a participating dental office and give them a free professional photography session to help the office update its website and marketing materials, DentistryIQ reports. The Dental Geek is also encouraging other organizations to match donations, doubling the contributions made.
